I just received the TINI
board and socket. This is, beyond a boubt, one of the coolest things to
come along for a while. It's only a little over a year old. I just found
out about it a couple of weeks ago. It is a fast 8051+ with a Java OS,
ethernet interface, and serial interfaces, among other things.
The hardware that I ordered only cost $113 USD, to my house. It was the Rev D, 1 MB TINI board ($67) and the E20 Rev C Socket ($35). The only other thing I had to supply was a 8-24VAC power supply. I connected it to my LinkSys DSL router and loaded up a Web Server on it and served up a page to the internet. It worked great.
All the development software is available for FREE from Dalsemi.com and Java.Sun.com
I intend to write a Servelet for the TINI and design a piece of hardware to interface between 1-Wire and the X-10, TW523 powerline interface. I am wanting to be able to monitor and control X-10 over the Internet, via the TINI.
Currently I have all the development software installed and am learning how to program in Java. It should be a lot of fun!!!
